International Scholars Services

The International Scholar Services office (ISS) provides technical immigration support to the Caltech Divisions and to individuals whose immigration is a part of their Caltech appointment. The ISS office files paperwork on behalf of the Institute with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service and the Department of Labor; and offers guidance on U.S. visa acquisition to international postdoctoral scholars and visitors at Caltech.

Although ISS strives to provide timely service to all international postdoctoral scholars and visitors, most non-immigrant statuses require extensive preparation and there can be lengthy processing delays, both on campus and at the U.S Citizenship and Immigration Service.  If a scholar is overseas and requires a visa to enter the U.S., delays can also occur at the U.S. Consulates.

If you have any question regarding visa acquisitions and immigration issues, please contact International Scholar Services.
