What We Do

The Postdoctoral Scholars/Visitors Services (PDS/VS) is located in the Office of Human Resources and is responsible for all the administrative matters concerning postdoctoral scholars and visitors.  The PDS/VS office works closely with the International Scholars Services (ISS) and the six academic divisions at Caltech and JPL in facilitating the appointment process and arrival of all postdoctoral scholars and visitors.  The PDS/VS office utilizes Caltech's Oracle HRMS application to track and generate all documents relating to postdoctoral scholars and visitors. All postdoctoral scholars and visitors must register with the PDS/VS office in order to activate their appointment at Caltech.  Information regarding medical, dental and other benefits, if applicable, is made available during the check-in orientation process.  

Our Goal

Our goal is to provide the necessary administrative support to postdocs and visitors, serve as a liaison between postdocs and the Institute, and finally, to serve as a resource during a postdoc or visitor's transition to Caltech and Pasadena. We welcome you to Caltech and Pasadena and look forward to meeting you.
