Atmospheric Modeling and Remote Sensing Observations
(Job 09017)
This posting is for a research position in JPL’s Climate, Oceans, and Solid Earth Science Section.
The successful candidate will join an active research group with interests in atmospheric modeling and remote sensing observations. Research duties include the development and evaluation of parameterizations for clouds, boundary layer and convection in climate and weather prediction models. Dr. Joao Teixeira, in JPL’s Climate, Oceans and Solid Earth Science Section will serve as JPL postdoctoral advisor to the selected candidate. The appointee will be guided by the JPL advisor to ensure that the research work will result in publications in the open literature.
Candidates with a PhD in atmospheric sciences or in an appropriate field of ocean sciences, engineering, physical or mathematical sciences are encouraged to apply. Candidates with interests in modeling, physical parameterizations of the boundary layer, clouds or convection are particularly welcome.
Please send a letter describing your research interests, a curriculum vitae, and a list of three references (with telephone numbers and postal and e-mail addresses) to:
