The research will involve analysis of satellite and in situ data to investigate the causes of sea level rise, ocean warming, changes in ocean heat transport and the ocean’s general circulation, particularly the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation. Dr. Josh Willis, in JPL’s Climate, Ocean, and Solid Earth Science section will serve as JPL postdoctoral advisor to the selected candidate. The appointee will be guided by the JPL advisor to ensure that the research work will result in publications in the open literature.
Candidates should have a recent PhD in oceanography or remote sensing with a strong background in data analysis. Experience analyzing oceanographic and/or satellite datasets is highly desirable.
