The successful applicant will spend one year exploring the optimal pixel scale for future space-based weak gravitational lensing observatories. A combination of analytic and simulation based approaches will be used to determine the size of the pixel as a function of the size of the telescope's point spread function that will produce the best constraints on dark matter and dark energy. The applicant should have signitifanct experience in the field of weak gravitational lensing and be proficient in the use of simulated and real data. Experience in advanced shape measurement techniques such as the 'shapelet' technique is required.
