This is first in a series of three classes. [See How to Write Letters, Memos, and Reports (2); and Techniques for Identifying and Correcting Mistakes in Written Communication (3).] Although each class can be taken independently, for optimal learning, we recommend taking all three in order.
So, which is it?
- Do you put the comma in or leave it out?
- Do you "lay" down or "lie" down?
- When should you use a semicolon?
Have the rules changed since you took your last writing class? The clarity of your written communication, as well as your professional image, may be at stake if you struggle with these questions.
This one-day program can help reduce your writing stress and improve the clarity of your written communication. This practical, hands-on workshop is designed to provide you with quick and easy review of the current rules of good writing as they relate to your job.
Your investment in this workshop will pay off in improved written communication, increased confidence in your writing, reduced writing stress, and a more polished professional image-whether you are a strong writer looking for a "brush up" or a writer just looking for help.
You will learn to:
- Recognize erros in common grammar usage
- Introduce the changes and trends in today's English usage
- Improve basic skills in grammar, punctuation, and editing
