Looking for ways to jumpstart your career?
This four-part series (with an optional fifth session for job search and resume clinic) focuses on current trends in the world of work, professional development and career options. During the series, you will be using the most well-respected and widely used professional development assessment inventories, instruments, and online tools available, such as:
- The Strong Interest Inventory Assessment
- Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
- SkillScan Skills Assessment
- Nova Values Driven Work Tool
- Online Career Development Websites and Tools
Class 1: How Do Current Changes in the World of Work Affect Me and My Career?
This class will focus on:
- Exploring current work trends and their relevance to your career
- Building awareness of demographic and generational changes in the world of work
- Opportunities and challenges in the new generation
Class 2: Do I Know How My Personality and Values Relate to Work?
This class will focus on:
- Identifying personal priorities and values through the use of assessment tools
Class 3: What are My Interests and Skills?
This class will focus on:
- Identifying interests and skills to develop successful career managememt strategies
Class 4: How Do I Integrate What I've Discovered About Myself?
This class will focus on:
- Personality, values, interests and skills to current and future career opportunities
Class 5 (Optional): Job Search and Resume Clinic
This class will focus on:
- Developing the nuts and bolts of a competitive resume
- Using resume templates
- Job search strategy & techniques
Course Cost
Register by February 14, 2008 for $75; after that it is $100. The course can be paid for by PTA or personal check at time of registration.
Cancellation Policy
Because your registration fee covers only a portion of the cost of this series, your PTA will be charged an additional $100 if you do not cancel your registration by 5pm, Friday, February 15, 2008.
