Caltech provides a broad and generous array of health and welfare, retirement and paid time off programs to employees and their families. Employees may elect coverage from three health care plans and two dental plans. Basic life insurance and basic long-term disability are provided by the Institute. Employees may choose to participate in competitively priced personal accident, supplemental life and supplemental long-term disability insurance programs. In addition to its retirement plan through which Caltech makes regular contributions to employee investment accounts, the Institute offers employees the opportunity for voluntary, pre-tax retirement savings using payroll deduction. Caltech offers generous paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, paid time off for bereavement and jury duty, plus a comprehensive program for military leave, personal leave and pregnancy leave.
